The official religion of Morocco is Islam. It is based on the teachings of the Koran and the Sunna and follows the words and actions of the Prophet Mohammed.
The ninth month of the Muslim calendar is Ramadan, which is a significant event in the year. This is a time of fasting, charity and spiritual renewal. At the end of Ramadan there is a three day feast called Eid al-Fitr (the Festival of Fast-Breaking).
